The Fundamental Principle of Our Counselling Approach:

The primary goal is to help our clients understand the true motivation for their choices. We make this a journey of curiosity rather than one of judgment. Once identified, we assist them in finding other choices that 'do no harm' in achieving their goals. The number and time of sessions can be customized depending on the needs and circumstances of each individual client.

  • Upon completion of the program, a summary report or completion letter will be provided. Additional documents, reports or assessments can be provided upon request.

  • Every program is tailored to suit individual circumstances and needs.

  • Language interpreters are available upon request.

  • Distance counselling is ideal for those with medical, mobility or court-ordered restrictions.

  • Programs are available via telephone from virtually anywhere with internet or phone service.

  • We attend Institutions to provide Counselling, assessments, and attend Parole Board Hearings.

CLIENT-CENTRED INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING PROGRAMS

We maintain a focus on Harm Reduction. Programs are designed to be client-centred. Not every topic in each program may be addressed.

Why Work With Us

Wooden gavel resting on a sound block.

At ReConnect Distance Counselling, we believe that meaningful change begins with understanding, accountability, and support. Our specialized distance counselling services are designed to help individuals navigate difficult life circumstances while promoting personal growth, emotional awareness, and positive behavioural change.

ReConnect Distance Counselling offers more than counselling sessions — it provides individuals with the opportunity to reflect, rebuild, and move forward with accountability and purpose. Through compassionate, professional support, clients are guided to explore personal responsibility, emotional regulation, impulse control, and the impact of behaviour on themselves, their families, and the wider community.

Sessions focus on practical growth through goal setting, coping strategies, emotional exploration, and addressing irrational or self-defeating beliefs, helping clients develop healthier patterns of thinking and behaviour.

For legal counsel and the courts, participation in counselling can serve as a valuable sentence mitigation tool. Comprehensive reports provide insight into the individual behind the charges, presenting a more complete human picture to the court and encouraging empathy, understanding, and informed decision-making.

The wider benefits extend to society as a whole. By addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour, counselling can help reduce recidivism and support meaningful rehabilitation. Diversion from the correctional system also helps reduce pressure on already strained judicial and correctional resources, creating better outcomes for individuals, families, and communities alike.

Delivered professionally and confidentially through phone sessions across Ontario, our approach supports clients in taking constructive steps toward rehabilitation, healthier decision-making, and a more stable future.
